Rita Cartois
Was born and raised in the historic town of Leuven. Went to school in “Koninklijk Lyceum Leuven”, learning about the language and culture of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Obtained a degree as Master in Slavonic Philology at the university of my hometown. For more than 3 decades of press and promotion officer for a German semi-governmental representation in Brussels.
My love for animals kept growing since Santa Claus brought me a puppy when I was 6 years old. Horses, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, all shared my life at some point. In the eighties I fell and still am in love with Irish Wolfhounds. I hope that in becoming a member of the dedicated team of the Belgian Cancer Fund for Animals, I will be able to contribute to the well-being of our four-legged friends. The diagnosis of cancer is an absolute nightmare for all living beings.
Veterinary and human medicine are joining hands and sharing expertise in research, prevention and treatment.
The “One health, one fight” principle is without a doubt the road to follow and intensify success in our common battle against this awful disease.
